Some tips to
help you be
prepared
when
shopping for
furniture
Bring the
dimensions
of the
room(s) you
are working
on
Remember
everything
looks a
little
smaller in
the showroom
than it will
in your
home-you
think it
will fit but
let's be
sure
Already have
carpet or
paint in
that room?
If possible
bring a
sample of
that
also-you
think you
will
remember the
color until
you start
looking at
fabrics
Have
furniture
you plan on
keeping?
Bring a
sample of
that fabric
or wood
finish also,
the more
information
we have
about your
room the
easier it
will be for
you |
At

though
we don't
sell it

right
paint
color or

to put
the
finishing
touch on
your
room.
Did you
know
that
light
coming
from the
north is
cool so
warm
colors
(red,
orange,
yellow)
will be
more
pleasing
and
direct
sunlight
coming
from the
south or
west is
warm so
cooler
colors
(green,
blue,
violet)
will be
more
attractive

Tips for
hanging
Artwork
Most
artwork
looks
best
when
hung at
eye
level or
approximately
60" off
the
floor.
A good
rule of
thumb
when
hanging
art over
furniture
is that
there
should
be twice
as much
space
above
the
artwork
than
below.
Generally
there
should
be 4"-8"
from the
top of
the
surface
to the
bottom
of the
frame.
Also the
width of
the art
work
should
be
approximately
75% of
the
width of
the
piece of
furniture
below
it.
When
hanging
a
collage
of
pictures
they
should
be
thought
of as
one
unit.
Lay them
out on
the
floor or
table
until
you get
just the
look you
want.
Angling
artwork
up a
stairwell
makes a
great
statement
